LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – The Bushnell men's cross country team opened up the 2022 campaign on Thursday evening, racing at the Lewis and Clark Opener, taking place at the Lake Oswego Public Golf Course.

Tom Boldon said, "We ran better than I expected we would, based on our training and some tired and sore bodies going into the race. I am very proud of the effort and results, especially on a hilly and uneven course. It will be exciting to see what we look like in an 8000m race."

The Beacons took fifth-place in the race, scoring 123 points. The University of Oregon won the race with four top-five finishes to score 38 points, followed by Lane Community College (57), George Fox (59), and Lewis & Clark (77).

Alec Carne was sixth among non-Division I collegiate runners and finished 12th overall in the four-mile race, coming across the line in 20 minutes, 26.2 seconds.
Linus Rueegger took 24th (20:53.2) while
Christopher Rosebrook (pictured) finished 42nd (21:17.5).Â

"Alec continues to show that he is going to be really good," said Boldon. "Linus looked solid and Chris looked very strong."

Noah Mancione grabbled 57th place and
Jonathan Rosebrook finished 60th to round out the scoring for the Beacons.

Connor Woodcock (76th) and
Isaac Bodley (78th).

Bushnell will be back in action on Friday, September 9 when they travel to Talent, Oregon to take part in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preview meet.
