COMPLETE RACE RESULTS
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – The Bushnell Invitational took place on Friday with the host Beacons taking second place. Senior
Linus Rueegger also took second-place individually for Bushnell at the Middlefield Golf Course.

Head Coach
Tom Boldon said, "Our guys did well for the first 8K of the season, and I am expecting to see some more steady improvement by all of them as we move forward. We had a strong pack with our 2-5 runners finishing just five spots apart and it was a good day for the Beacons."
Â
Corban University, led by event winner Robert Swoboda (25:44.7), won the race with a score of 22, claiming three of the top four finishers. Bushnell took second place with 41 points, followed by Multnomah in third (64) and Umpqua Community College in fourth (93).
Â
Rueegger finished second with a time of 27 minutes, 13.2 seconds, easily out-pacing the third and fourth place runners from Corban, Zach McCammon and Shane Davis, who came in side-by-side at 27:18. "Linus had a solid race, but ran most of it all by himself. I can't wait to see what he does when he is in a pack from start to finish. He is still so green to racing that once he gets more races under his belt, he will be a major factor in this conference."
Â
Christopher Rosebrook was Bushnell's second finisher in seventh place (29:02.3) while freshman
Noah Mancione (pictured) also landed in the top-ten with a ninth-place finish (29:33.4) in his first collegiate 8000m race. "It felt really good, but it was definitely an adjustment going up to an 8k after running 5k's in high school," he said. "Our team didn't get the result we were hoping for, but we just have to go out and keep working hard and by the end of the season we should be very competitive."
Â
Rounding out the scoring for the Beacons were
Gabe Fatooh in 11th (30:02.1) and
Connor Woodcock in 12th (30:09.4).
Quaid Ferguson also ran for the Beacons, taking 24th (33:16.8).
Â
The Beacons will be off until October 8 when they head to Klamath Falls for the CCC Preview Meet, hosted by Oregon Tech.
