BELLINGHAM, Wash. – And just like that, the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season has completed the second of four tournaments for the 2019-2020 season.
Â
It was just another day at the office for the University of British Columbia who won the conference portion of the event by 12 shots over Oregon Tech. There was a close battle for second with the Owls merging in front of Corban University by two strokes and Northwest Christian by three.
Â
Shooting an 895 combined team score, the Beacons finished fourth in the CCC list and sixth overall as the full tournament was won by the University of Fraser Valley at 30-strokes under par.
Â
No CCC individual finished in the top seven spots as Malcolm Glumpak won the conference event in eighth place overall (215).
Seth King was the Beacons top finisher, shooting a 70-760-74—220 to go four-over par. He was tied for 13th overall and was fourth among CCC golfers.
Â
Taking sixth place in the Conference event was
Liam Bedford, competing as an individual for the Beacons. Bedford shot a 222 including a tourney-low 73 in Tuesday's third round.
Â
Tied for eighth was
Nathan Mallory (pictured), who opened with an 80 in round won but recovered with rounds of 72 and 71 to shoot a 223.
Â
Also golfing for the Beacons were
Andrew Webb (78-70-81—229),
Cole Radbourne (75-79-76—230) and
Keegan Spengler (81-81-74—236).
Â
While the CCC schedule will not resume until April of 2020, there is still plenty of golf to be played. NCU will quickly return to action this weekend, traveling to McMinnville to participate in the Linfield Invitational.
