EUGENE, Ore. – On Saturday the Beacons continued in the Tespa Overwatch Varsity Series beginning play in the second-chance bracket. NCU earned two Ws due to forfeit as their opponents, Central Maine Community College and Florida Southern College, failed to show. 
 
The Beacons moved into the second-chance bracket after failing to qualify for the Varsity Invitational in qualifiers one and two. This bracket will be an eight round Swiss tournament that feeds into the play-in stage. While the wins will not directly help NCU qualify for the Varsity Playoffs, they will help when it comes to seeding. The play-in stage will be a single-elimination best-of-five tournament for a chance to qualify for Varsity Playoffs, consisting of the bottom eight teams from the Varsity Invitational and all teams from the second-chance bracket. All second-chance teams will be seeded by their match record. The top two teams from play-ins advance to the Varsity Playoffs.
