EUGENE, Ore. – Hoping to continue their winning streak in the second-chance bracket, the Northwest Christian University Overwatch team was handed two loses this weekend by Grand Canyon University and University of Washington in the 2019 Tespa Varisty Overwatch Series.

GAME ONE: NCU 0, GCU 2

After meeting in Qualifier 2, NCU and GCU met again; this time in the second-chance bracket. Not much changed this time around. The Beacons immediately felt the pressure of the Lopes and were unable to answer. The best-of-three match opened on the control map, Oasis. GCU took the map 2-0. NCU chose King's Row for the second map and again lost the point 1-0. 

GAME TWO: NCU 0, UW 2

NCU was 3-0 against Washington in 2018-19 and did not allow the Huskies to take single match. This year was different as they handed the Beacons just their second loss in the bracket. Once again, the best-of-three match opened on the control map, Oasis. UW took the map 2-0. Again NCU chose King's Row for map two and was able to secure a point but ultimately fell to the Huskies, 2-1. 

Overwatch will have another double-header on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM and 3 PM PST before transitioning into the single elimination play-in stage on November 2. The play-in stage will be a best-of-five tournament for a chance to qualify for Varsity Playoffs.
