Hayward and Palo Alto, CALIF. – A small crew of sprinters and throws capped of their spring break over the weekend, competing at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational.
Â
It was definitely an adventure as some members of the team traveled some 20 miles between Chabot College (host of the SFSU event) and Stanford in Palo Alto to compete in both meets on Saturday.
Â
Notable highlights were produced on the men's side, led by another school-record sprint from sophomore
Matt Jones. Jones ran a 21.99 in the Stanford 200m event, clearing 0.12 seconds off his own record. He was also just shy of hitting the NAIA provisional standard (21.62).
Â
A few new CCC qualifications were also added over the weekend including
Antonio Campos-Perez in the 100m and
Logan Oakerman in the Javelin.Â
