ASHLAND, Ore. –  Fueled by a pair of event championships, the Northwest Christian women's track & field team landed a fifth-place finish at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on the campus of Southern Oregon University.

NCU scored 89.5 points to finish fifth, 13.5 points behind Oregon Tech in fourth. The College of Idaho won the title with 218.5 points. Corban was a distant sixth behind the Beacons with 62 points.

Leading the charge, and setting the tone on Friday night was senior Shea Vallaire (pictured) who claimed the CCC championship in the 10,000m run. Vallaire ran a 37:12.13 and claimed NCU's sixth title in the event in the last seven years.

On Saturday, Bailey Dell made it two-for-two, claiming her second consecutive title in the women's javelin. Dell threw a winning mark of 47.77m, missing a conference championship record by just 15 inches. Teammate Madeleine Nelson came in second to earn All-Conference honors, throwing a career-best 42.57.

Two other women's athletes came home with All-Conference hardware, claiming top-three finishes in their events. None were more spectacular than senior Sierra Brown. After a disappointing eighth-place finish in the 1500m on Friday as she battled through illness, Brown recovered enough to take third in the 5000m on Saturday. The All-CCC honor was the seventh of her career, making her the most decorated athlete in school history as she broke a tie with Stephanie Hescock and Alyssa Harmon.

Also earning All-Conference was Michelle Fletcher who took third in the 3000m Steeplechase. She will look to close out her career with a repeat All-America finish in the event at nationals.

Also adding a memorable moment to the proceedings was sophomore Brianna Wood who took down a five-year old school record in the 400m Hurdles, running a 1:06.04.
