ASHLAND, Ore. – Sophomore Kelly Willyard was one of three Beacons to post team season bests in their events over the weekend as the Beacons competed in three different meets. Willyard booked a return trip to Southern Oregon as she hit the conference qualifying standard in the 400m.
 
Willyard ran a 1:01.15 in the event to take sixth place. Freshman Ariana Henton improved her own NCU pole vault record by one notch, clearing 2.45m, and Christy Seaton posted NCU's best 100m Hurdle time of the season with a sprint of 15.62 seconds.
 
While most of the team was in Ashland for the Raider Invitational, NCU's javelin team was in Southern California for a pair of meets. At the Cal State LA Twilight on Thursday, Bailey Dell won the event and Madeleine Nelson came in fifth. Dell's mark of 47.36m was the top heave by nearly 16 feet.
 
On Friday at the Brian Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University, Dell took fourth behind all NCAA Division I athletes, throwing 46.40m. Both marks were better than the NAIA "A" standard.
