MONMOUTH, Ore. – Junior
Madeleine Nelson (pictured) had the best meet of her career on Friday night at the John Knight Twilight, earning an NAIA qualification in the javelin and setting a new school record in the triple-jump.

In the javelin, Nelson set a new PR at 40.60m, crossing the 40 meter mark for the first time to earn an NAIA "A" standard. She joins
Bailey Dell, the top thrower in the NAIA who hit a 43.58m on Friday.

Nelson also took fifth place in the Triple Jump, landing a 10.65m mark to set a new school record.

A new school record was also set in the 4x400m relay as the team of
Kelly Willyard,
Emily Moon,
Brianna Wood, and
Cassie Brownell ran a 4:07.68. The previous mark (4:11.10) has been set in 2014.

NCU will compete against next weekend at split events. Many will travel to the Cougar Open at Clackamas CC while a select few will qualify to participate in the Oregon Relays at Hayward Field.Â
