EUGENE, Ore. – Distance leaders
Sierra Brown (pictured) and
Michelle Fletcher improved NAIA qualifying marks on Friday as they competed in the Oregon State High Performance Meet.

Fletcher finished 6th in the 3000m Steeplechase, improving her own school record to 10:47.57. She was the third collegiate finisher in the competitive field. Fletcher's time is the third fastest in the NAIA this season. She is also ranked No. 1 in the CCC in the event.

Sierra Brown improved her time in the 5000m, running a 17:18.34. She is currently ranked eighth in the NAIA and second in the Cascade Conference at the distance.

Cass Brownell landed her first CCC qualification as she ran a 1:01.23 in the 400m.

A select group of Beacons will be back in action on May 6 at the Oregon Twilight meet and a few others will participate in the Linfield Open on May 7 with one final chance for a CCC qualification on the line. For the rest, all eyes are on the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, set for May 13-14 in Hermiston.Â
