McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The NCU throwers had another big finish this weekend, dominating at the Jen Boyman Invitational. The Beacons owned first and fourth-place finishes in the event.
Â
Sophomore
Bailey Dell led the charge, winning the event with a mark of 44.94m. Her heave not only broke her own school record but also landed at No. 1 on the 2016 NAIA national performance list.
Â
Following closely was junior
Madeleine Nelson with a personal-record throw of 39.46m. Her time was good enough for an NAIA "B" standard, and ranks just outside the top-ten nationally.
Â
Another school record was also defeated on Saturday as the 4x100m relay team of
Shaneesa Applegate,
Haley Damian, Cassandra Brownell and
Myranda Johnson (pictured) ran a 52.38 to clear 0.41 seconds off the benchmark.
Â
One new CCC qualification was also earned, bringing the total number on the conference roster to 16. Freshman
Anna Brooks garnered her first ever Cascade Conference invite with a 5000m run of 18:50.05.
