SALEM, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team fell to 2-3 on the season Tuesday night, dropping a non-conference tilt with Willamette University, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.
The Beacons hit .122 in the match and was led by
Emily Miller, collecting ten kills.
Cassie Bishop added nine kills and five digs and
Mercedes LeClaire added seven digs.
Whitney Hoff saw her first action of the season, grabbing 12 assists and
Taylor Hatleberg added 13 assists.
Head Coach Mike Gaffaney said, “Willamette is much improved over the past couple of years. We scheduled a preseason full of tough teams but we'll be a better team for it as we get rolling in conference play.”
The Beacons open up their Cascade Collegiate Conference slate on Friday with a home match against pre-season #1 College of Idaho, ranked 18th in the NAIA national coach's poll.
