EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team lost a pair of conference matches this weekend, getting swept in both.
Cassie Bishop collected 17 kills and 16 digs over the weekend for the Beacons.
NCU traveled to Klamath Falls on Friday night, falling to Oregon Tech, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19. The Beacons played their strongest set in the first, despite losing by nine points. The team hit .200 in the first set with ten kills and just three errors.
Emily Miller led the team in that match with nine kills, hitting a strong .320, adding five digs and a pair of blocks. Bishop had 8 kills and two service aces and
Taylor Hatleberg added 12 assists.
On Saturday the Beacons traveled to Ashland for a Halloween clash with Southern Oregon, ranked #12 in the NAIA. The Raiders took the match, 25-11, 25-15, 25-20. Bishop led the team with nine kills and ten digs while
Whitney Hoff added 17 assists.
Northwest Christian (6-20, 1-16 CCC) will close out the 2009 season on Friday when they travel to Salem to take on rival Corban College at 7:00 pm.
