COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Seniors Dylan Perry (pictured) and Jordan Whittenburg combined for 37 points as Northwest Christian University knocked off Walla Walla University on Tuesday evening, 87-75. The Beacons shot 63% in the game and had all 16 active players see time on the floor.
The deep bench for NCU accounted for 44 points, including a game-high 21 from Perry, who shot 8-for-9 from the floor, adding five free throws and six rebounds. Whittenburg added 16 points and a game-high four steals as the Beacons forced the Wolves into 25 turnovers. Also coming off the bench strong was Brent McKee, adding eight points and three assists, along with a game-high nine rebounds.
The Wolves (0-6) had four players in double-figures, led by 17 from Joshua Henderson. Dustin Miracle added 13 points and a team-high six rebounds and Jheremy Haynes came off the pine to score eleven points with three steals.
The Beacons (4-1) are now off to their best start to a season in over five years. They remain in Washington as they have a big contest scheduled with NCAA Division I Seattle University on Thursday night.
