Bushnell and Bulldog Media Announce Radio Partnership

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University Athletics and Bulldog Media Broadcasting, owners of The Sports Animal (102.9 FM/1050 AM), are proud to announce a new broadcast partnership bringing Beacons men's and women's basketball to the airwaves beginning with Cascade Collegiate Conference play this season.

Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, "What a great opportunity to partner with Bulldog Media and the Sports Animal to broadcast our men's and women's basketball games this season!  I am excited to reunite with owner and radio personality Danny Havel on this adventure together.  Bringing the excitement of Bushnell Beacon Basketball to the airways and into your cars and/or homes is a very unique opportunity for our teams, coaches and student-athletes that we feel the community will welcome and want to root for."

The agreement marks an exciting expansion of The Sports Animal's commitment to local collegiate athletics, giving Beacons fans a new home to follow their teams throughout conference competition.

"This is an agreement I made a priority to bring to completion," said Danny Havel, owner of Bulldog Media Broadcasting. "The stewardship and standards prevalent at Bushnell embody what my company strives to partner with in the local community. I have had a long relationship with the University and am excited to bring Beacons Basketball to the fans, friends, family, and supporters of Bushnell."

Veteran Cascade Collegiate Conference broadcaster Kyle Clements will serve as the new "Voice of the Beacons." Clements brings extensive experience covering CCC athletics, most recently calling games for Southern Oregon University. His familiarity with the conference, its programs, and its rivalries will provide listeners with knowledgeable, energetic play-by-play coverage throughout the basketball season.

INTRODUCING "BEACONS SPOTLIGHT"

In addition to live game broadcasts, the partnership will introduce "Beacons Spotlight," a one-hour weekly radio show broadcast LIVE from The Pub at Laurelwood every Wednesday evening throughout the basketball season, beginning December 2.

The program will take fans beyond the court, featuring conversations with Bushnell coaches, student-athletes, and special guests. Each week, listeners will enjoy game recaps, previews of upcoming conference matchups, and an inside look at the people and stories shaping Beacons athletics.

"Beacons Spotlight" will also showcase the unique mission, values, and community impact of Bushnell University, highlighting the institution's commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and service.

The weekly live broadcast will provide an opportunity for fans, alumni, students, and community supporters to connect with the Beacons in an engaging and personal setting.

Anderson said, "Having a consistent 'Voice of the Beacons' in Kyle Clements will allow our listeners to feel like they are 'in the arena' during a game, whether at home or on the road, as they follow the Beacons throughout this 2026-27 season.  The weekly 'Beacons Spotlight' show will be sure to expand, explore and entertain the listening audience with insight to all that Bushnell University and Beacon Athletics is involved with locally and afar."

BEACONS BASKETBALL TIPS OFF DECEMBER 1

The new broadcast partnership officially gets underway Tuesday, December 1, when Bushnell travels to Corban University for Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Fans can follow the excitement of Bushnell Men's and Women's Basketball on The Sports Animal, 102.9 FM and 1050 AM, as the Beacons battle conference rivals throughout the season.

With live game coverage, experienced play-by-play announcing, and the addition of "Beacons Spotlight," the partnership strengthens The Sports Animal's position as a home for local and regional sports coverage in the Willamette Valley.
