Partridge in Fourth at OIT Tourney

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Senior Haley Partridge led a three-player NCU contingent on Sunday, holding fourth place after the first day of the Oregon Tech Invitational at Running Y Golf Club.

Partridge shot an 81-80=161 to tie for fourth place, six shots off of leader Baylee Borchers from The College of Idaho. Concordia's Holly Winburn and Jennifer Gibbons follow in second and third with Partridge tied with Warner Pacific's Scotti Jo Helmick in fourth place. Lurking as part of a three-way tie for sixth is 2012 CCC Player of the Year Sonny Powers from Concordia, who shot a 163.

Also golfing for the Beacons was sophomore Sami Pitts, who shot a 107-98=205 to claim 26th place. Freshman Ashley Steiner made her NCU golfing debut in 27th place, shooting 99-109=208.

With just a trio of golfers teeing it up in Klamath Falls, the Beacons were unable to post a team score. Leading the tournament is Concordia (637) followed by The College of Idaho, 17 shots back.

The tournament will conclude with one more round on Monday morning.
