EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell volleyball rolled to a four-set win over Warner Pacific University on Thursday evening at CC Perry Gymnasium, taking down the Knights 25-11, 25-19, 22-25, 25-9 to remain undefeated in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
 
The Beacons (7-2, 2-0 CCC) had a substantial 81-35 margin in points scored as they collected 57 kills, 12 blocks, and a season-high 12 service aces. The Beacons were able to go deeper into their bench in the game, and let WPU hang around before taking care of business with their most dominant set victory of the year in the fourth, scoring 22 points and hitting .412.
 
"We started and finished the way we wanted tonight," said Head Coach Jason Corwin. "Coach Laban had her team ready to compete, the venue was loud, and that gave us some struggles in the middle of the match. I am proud of how our team diagnosed the issues and got back to playing our standard.  
 
The Beacons were led on offense by Peyton Arland (pictured) and Teagan Dixon, scoring ten kills apiece with Dixon adding five blocks. Amyah Semau hit .467 in the match with eight kills while Soliel Sands added seven kills and eight blocks, including four solo blocks.
 
"I am proud of our team and how we came through and finished," said Arland. "Everyone worked hard and didn't stop fighting until it was over. I am happy to come home with another win to start off our conference play."
 
Setters Avery McCallister and Emma Fa'alogo combined for 39 assists with McAllister adding three aces and Fa'alogo earning 13 digs for the double-double. The breakout performance of the night, however, came from freshman defensive specialist Zyon Moevao, leading all players with 20 digs as Bushnell out-dug Warner Pacific 65-57.
 
Moevao said, "This team and culture have been such a blessing to my life. Each person showed so much resilience and didn't let outside factors determine the outcome. I am so proud of how everyone continued to fight."
 
Warner Pacific (0-2, 0-1 CCC) finished the match hitting .016 with 25 kills and 23 attack errors. Tayah-Anne Toa posted a match-high 11 kills while Josie Schultz had five kills and a block.
 
UP NEXT: Bushnell will remain on the road for their next two contests, heading to Washington on September 11 to take on Evergreen State before facing Northwest University on September 12.
