EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell volleyball team continued to roll on Saturday, finishing the weekend with 20 service aces and 23 blocks as they defeated Oregon Tech in four sets, 25-18, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19.
The Beacons (11-4, 6-2 CCC), currently receiving votes in the NAIA coaches poll, had ten aces while Soliel Sands (pictured, right) had a hand in six of the team's eight blocks. It was another show of resilience for Bushnell, as they fought off a pair of set-points in the second set and dropped the third set.

Jason Corwin said, "This was a really necessary win for us because we have been working hard to maintain our standard of play after a big win. We could have easily sat back and waited for them to make mistakes, but instead we stayed in attack mode. We slipped in set three but were able to refocus and get back to our game play and stay in control. I feel like we are in a great spot heading into another tough weekend competing in the CCC."
Bushnell's power outside-hitting duo of
Amyah Semau and
Taya Blankenship (pictured, left) once again led the Beacon attack as they combined for 31 kills. Semau secured a double-double, posting 15 kills and 15 digs while Blankenship earned a match-high 16 kills and five service aces.
Teagan Dixon added seven kills and four blocks while Sands had six blocks. Starting Libero
Ashlyn Tai earned 16 digs while
Avery McCallister led the Beacons with 27 assists.
Oregon Tech (8-8, 2-6) was led by Ka'Ala Masaoka with 13 kills. Kaley Whalen added a match-high 24 digs while Taryn Ramsay led all players with 37 assists.
UP NEXT: Bushnell, currently alone in third-place in the CCC, will close out the first-half of the CCC circuit next weekend. They will have another difficult text as they take on No. 11 Lewis-Clark State (11-3, 5-3) on Friday at 6:00 pm.
