Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – Lewis-Clark State College showed every bit of why they are one of the top-ranked teams in the NAIA on Friday night, opening the final weekend of the first half of conference play with a sweep of Bushnell, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.
Â
The Beacons (11-5, 6-3 CCC), currently receiving votes in the NAIA coaches poll, maintain their share of third-place in the CCC and are now tied with the Warriors (12-3, 6-3) and No. 6 Corban.
Â
A close battle for the entire night, neither team ever led by more than five points over the first two sets. LC State would end up getting the better of the Beacons each time, hitting .323 on offense with a 7-3 margin in blocks and 43-33 advantage in digs.
Â
Head Coach
Jason Corwin said, "Home court means something in this conference. LC played well and we had a hard time finding a consistent rhythm. We couldn't get enough pressure on them for more of the game. They got to hit hard tonight and earned a lot of their points."
Â
The Beacons were led in defeat by Soliel Sands, hitting .750 with six kills, no errors, and three blocks.
Amyah Semau collected a team-high eight kills while
Chloe Farr led the team with nine digs.
Â
Senior setter
Emma Fa'alogo gave the Beacons a little silver lining on Friday as she earned 15 assists and became just the sixth place in school history to claim 1000 assists in her career.
Â
"There is so much that Emma does for this team," said Corwin. "To accomplish this in a season-and-a-half just shows you what a great player she is."
The Warriors were led to victory by Hadyn Smith, collecting 14 kills and four blocks.

UP NEXT: Bushnell heads to face Walla Walla University (3-8, 3-6) on Saturday at 8:00 pm.
