EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's soccer team dominated possession but settled for a draw on Thursday afternoon in their season-opener with Simpson University.
The Beacons held a 13-4 shot advantage, including a 9-1 margin over the final 45 minutes, but settled for just a penalty kick goal in the 30th minute from freshman

The only shot Simpson took the second half proved to be all they would need to escape Eugene with a tie, scoring in the 72nd minute as Raigan Brooks received a ball in the box off a free kick service from Anahi Gomez, and scored into the right corner of the net.
"Overall, I am proud of our performance today," said head coach
Toni Malone. "I thought we were disciplined, competed hard for 90 minutes, and created a lot of opportunities moving the ball while limiting a good Simpson team defensively. We still need to be more clinical and turn performances like this into wins, but I am really encouraged by the direction this group is heading."
UP NEXT: Bushnell returns to action on Sunday, traveling to Salem to face off against Willamette University in another non-conference affair, kicking off at 5:00 pm.
