EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball team was defeated by Southern Oregon on Friday evening, 78-65 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Dave Lipp Court.
The Beacons (11-11, 8-7 CCC) out-scored the Raiders 42-40 in the second half, but couldn't overcome a 16-point halftime deficit as the SOU offense shot 51% on the night with 11 three-pointers.
After scoring just four points in the first half,
Kaleb Burnett ended the night with a team-high 17 for the Beacons, adding six rebounds, two steals and a team-high five assists.
Cory Johnson (pictured) led the Beacons with seven rebounds and added 16 points.
Southern Oregon (15-8, 12-3), who sits a half-game out of first-place in the CCC, was led by Gio Evanson, scoring 18 points to lead five players in double figures. Elijah Jackson added 12, Bryce Dyer scored 11 and Jace Anderson added ten, while Luke Wagstaff came off the bench to record 11 points, all in the second half as he hit a trio of three-pointers.
UP NEXT: The Beacons close out the weekend on Saturday against No. 22 Oregon Tech at 5:00 pm. The Owls fell to Corban University on Friday evening by 20 points.
