Johnson Named CCC Offensive Player of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – Men's Basketball senior Cory Johnson has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, as announced by the CCC offices on Monday.

Johnson had a big weekend, averaging 28.5 points per game and lifting the Beacons to a win over then-CCC leading Eastern Oregon University.

In the 90-87 win over EOU, currently receiving votes in the NAIA national coaches poll, Johnson posted a double-double, scoring 32 points along with 10 rebounds. He shot 55% from the field and was 7-for-8 at the free-throw line.

Bushnell lost to The College of Idaho on Saturday, 84-59, but Johnson excelled in that game as well, shooting 10-for-18 from the field and finishing with another 25 points on Senior Night.

This is the second weekly honor for Johnson this season and third of his career. He was also named CCC Defensive Player of the Week on January 5th.

UP NEXT: The Beacons (12-13, 9-9), who are currently tied with Corban for sixth-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, will close out the regular season on the road next weekend, taking on Walla Walla University on Friday at 2:00 pm, before facing Lewis-Clark State on Saturday at 6:00 pm. Bushnell has already clinched their spot in the CCC tournament.
