OLYMPAIA, Wash. – Freshman
Brielle Engle scored twice on Saturday afternoon as the Bushnell women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Evergreen in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Â
The Beacons (4-5-2, 3-4 CCC) held a 22-9 margin in shot attempts in the contest, including a 14-2 advantage in shots-on-goal as Evergreen moved to 0-7-2 on the season including an 0-6-1 mark in CCC play. Â
Â
Head Coach
Toni Malone said, "Today I challenged our forwards to step up and finish their opportunities and Bri answered that challenge. Elidia and Ryah both did a great job finding her in dangerous positions and I really appreciated the selflessness in those moments. We have a lot of attacking potential and it was good to see us capitalize today."
Â
Engle's game-winning goal came in the 38th minute as she collected a rebound off a missed saved shot by
Elidia Cervantes Carlos. Her insurance strike came in the 84th as she scored from ten yards off a through ball from
Ryah Larsen.
Â
For the Beacons and goalkeeper
Gabriella Montes it was their third shutout of the season with Montes making two saves.
Â
UP NEXT: Bushnell's five-match road trip will end next Friday as they travel to Salem, Oregon to take on Corban University (5-6-2, 3-3-1) at 4:30 pm.
