Halle Meadows Announces Resignation

EUGENE, Ore.  – Head Coach Halle Meadows, who in three years transformed the Bushnell women's soccer program, has announced that she will resign from the Beacons, taking the Head Coach position at NCAA Division II Chico State.

In three seasons with the Beacons, Coach Meadows elevated a program that had won just 11 games over the previous six years into a two-time Cascade Conference tournament qualifier. Last season the Beacons had their first winning season at 7-6-4 and earned their highest finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, taking fifth place.

"I am incredible grateful for my time at Bushnell," said Coach Meadows. "Thank you to Corey and Sarah for taking a chance on a young coach and for your unwavering belief in my vision for this program. With your support and the support of many others, we were able to make history this past fall. I would also like to personally thank Guillermo, Nick, Kelsey, Wendy, Sam, Nathan and many others that helped make this success possible."

Meadows leaves for Chico, California where she takes over the reigns at Chico State University from Kim Sutton who retired after 25 years. The Wildcats are coming off a season in which they went 10-6-4 and took second place in their conference.

Meadows said, "I am honored to have been a part of Bushnell's history and will truly miss the people who make the university what it is. While I am excited to begin my next journey at Chico State, I will never forget my time here. I look forward to following its continued success and supporting the program from afar. Once a Beacon, always a Beacon!"

Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, "I want to thank Halle for her positive energy, enthusiasm, and leadership that she gave to us over the past three seasons. During her time on the sideline, Bushnell Women's Soccer gained a ton of respect from the CCC with our style of play along with our technical and tactical improvement during Halle's reign.  Halle has changed the direction of the program from day one as a Beacon and I do not expect anything different moving forward.  While we will miss Halle and Jonny and wish them well at Chico State, we will also honor her by continuing to strengthen our foundation that she set-forth through faith, family, hard work and determination."

A search for the eighth head coach in program history is underway. Interested parties may contact Corey Anderson at canderson@bushnell.edu or visit the job listing at https://www.bushnell.edu/careers
