WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Wine Valley Golf Club was a friendly course for sophomore
Morgan Schlesinger on Monday as she became just the eighth golfer in Bushnell history to card a score in the 70's in the first round of the Walla Walla University Invitational.
Schlesinger (pictured) shot a 79 in the first Cascade Conference tournament of the season, and led the Beacons to a team score of 334, the third-lowest in school history.
Schlesinger goes into the clubhouse tied for 17
th place with
Kylee Smith (81) close behind in 21
st and
Hailey Smith (83) in 26
th.
Jaylee Hix rounded out the scoring for the Beacons with a 91 (34
th) while
Jada Richwine carded a 92 (37
th).
Bushnell sits in sixth-place after the first of two rounds of the tournament which will conclude on Tuesday. The Beacons are one shot ahead of Walla Walla and sit 20 strokes behind Southern Oregon University in fifth.
