PORTLAND, Ore. – Bushnell's sprinters got into the action this weekend earning three of the Beacons' four new Cascade Collegiate Conference qualifying marks at the Larry Byerly Invitational, hosted by Lewis & Clark College.
Leading the way was sophomore Jahlin Green (picture), who posted a personal record time of 22.64 in the 200m to qualify for the conference race. He was joined by
Blake Thornton in the 400m (50.45, PR) and
Hudson Gerlits (1:01.27) in the 400m Hurdles.
The last new ticket was punched by
Maxwell Al-Rubaie in the shot put, throwing 12.30m (40-04.25) for a new personal record and his second qualification for the conference championship (Hammer).
A total of 20 personal records were set by the men in Portland, including double PR days from Wyatt Humphries (3000m Steeplechase, 1500m), Thornton (400m, 200m),
Braxton Brooks (400m, 200m), and
Elliot Nofziger (200m, High Jump).
"We had another really good day today," said Director of Track & Field
Kyle Will. "We are seeing a lot of consistency, and the wear-and-tear from the season is starting to catch up to us so we're glad to get a week off. Things are coming together nicely here at the end of the season."
UP NEXT: The Beacons will be out of competition for the next two weeks, returning on May 2 at the Oregon State High Performance Meet and May 3 at the Linfield Open, the final events before the CCC Championship.
