No. 24 Yotes Take Two

CALDWELL, Idaho – Needing to come from behind in game two, The College of Idaho earned a walk-off win to complete a sweep of the Bushnell University Beacons in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Friday.

GAME ONE: The College of Idaho 5, Bushnell 1

Abbey Brooks (3-0) threw a complete-game one-hitter as the Yotes took game one of the weekend series.

Emily Cole (2-5) only gave up four hits in the loss for the Beacons, but scattered five runs and struck out three batters while walking six.

Bushnell's only run came in the top of the second inning on single by Shyla Mead (pictured), with the junior grabbing her first hit and RBI of the season, scoring Ashlyn Martin.

GAME TWO: The College of Idaho 5, Bushnell 4

The Beacons got their offense going in game two as Haleigh Wambolt and Violet Richardson both hit home runs in the top of the third inning to give the Beacons an early 4-1 lead. Wambolt hit a three-run shot before Richardson poked a solo bomb for her fourth home run of the season.

The Yotes climbed back with a run in the third and two in the fifth to tie the game, and went on to win it on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

For the Beacons, Sara Martin (3-2) went the distance for the Beacons, giving up four earned runs on ten hits, striking out five batters.

UP NEXT: The Beacons (5-9, 0-5 CCC) will play two more against The College of Idaho (7-3, 3-2) on Saturday, with the first pitch scheduled for 11:00 am Mountain time.
