GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Bushnell men's basketball team closed out their Arizona road trip on Friday evening with a loss, falling to No. 2-ranked Arizona Christian University, 91-68.

The Firestorm (6-1), an NAIA national semifinalist last season, shot 58% from the field, out-rebounding the Beacons 41-33, and scored 25 points off of 17 Bushnell turnovers. The Beacons (2-3) were held under 30% shooting, but did see marked improvement at the free-throw line where they hit 24-of-28 attempts.

Kaleb Burnett, who finished with a game-high 21 points.
Cory Johnson and
Ashton Harvey added nine points apiece with Harvey leading the Beacons with eight rebounds. Â

ACU had six players score in double-figures with Sabien Cain and Jonathan Dillon combining for 33 points off the bench. In fact, the Firestorm reserves out-scored their Bushnell counterparts, 40-20.

UP NEXT: The Beacons will remain on the road next weekend, traveling to compete in the Simpson University Invitational. They take on the tournament hosts on Friday at 7:00 pm and then face Cal Maritime on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
