EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's soccer team earned their sixth clean-sheet of the season on Friday evening, playing to a 0-0 tie with Carroll College in the penultimate game of the regular season.
Â
The Beacons (7-4-4, 6-3-2 CCC) out-shot the Saints (6-4-5, 4-4-3) 15-7 in the game and took seven shots-on-goal, while putting together another strong defensive performance with just two shots-on-goal allowed.
Â
"We created a lot of opportunities in our game today," said senior defender
Lorelai Murphy (pictured). "While it remained a scoreless game, there were still a lot of good moments and I know we can use that momentum going into Saturday's game."
Â
Senior keeper
Ana Augusto made two saves and earned her fifth individual shutout of the season, tying a school record which has stood for 15 years.
Â
Head Coach
Halle Meadows said, "It took us a little longer than we would like to get into the game tonight. The second half we played strong and finally started playing our game. Defensively we did well but it was another game of us putting up lots of shots and corners and not being able to put the ball in the back of the net."
Â
With one game remaining in the regular season, the Beacons can clinch fifth-place in the CCC with at least a tie but could still finish as low as seventh.
Â
Senior
Lexis Canyete-Asato said, "I am proud of this group for never giving up tonight. Now we can focus on tomorrow, our last conference game and a crucial one for playoffs. It is bittersweet, but we gotta lock in and handle our business."

UP NEXT: The Beacons close it out on Saturday against Rocky Mountain College (10-3-1, 8-2-1) on Saturday at 4:30 pm.
