Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Nick Askew, Assistant Athletic Director for Communications

Rocky Spoils Senior Night with 4-3 Win

EUGENE, Ore.  – The Bushnell women's soccer team had no problem finding the back of the net on Saturday evening, but couldn't keep the ball out of the opposite net as they dropped their regular-season finale, 4-3 to Rocky Mountain College.

On a night in which the Beacons (7-5-4, 6-4-2 CCC) celebrated their seven seniors they came out hot as Stephanie Llanos scored on a five-yard header off a lofted cross from Lexis Canyete-Asato in a senior-to-senior connection in the 11th minute.

Unfortunately, each time the Beacons struck, Rocky's Georgia Dean had an answer. The Australian sophomore scored all four RMC goals, hitting her first in the 24th minute to tie the game.

Less than a minute later, Bushnell's scoring leader, freshman Elidia Cervantes Carlos put the Beacons back on top, scoring off a pass from Charlotte Vandercar after a defensive miscue by Rocky.

Dean would score the next three unanswered goals, including a pair of penalty kicks, as RMC took a 4-2 lead.

Canyete-Asato added one final goal in the 60th minute, burying a 35-yard free kick for an impressive score.

UP NEXT: The Beacons finish the regular season tied with Oregon Tech for fifth-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, and will claim the No. 5 seed in the CCC tournament by virtue of a third tie-breaker (fewest goals allowed in conference play).

This gives the Beacons a return match with No. 4-seed Rocky in the conference quarterfinals, taking place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 8 in Medford.

2025 Bushnell Women's Soccer Seniors

Ellie ArzieELLIE ARZIE - Arzie is in her fifth season with the Beacons and has played in 29 games during her career, making four starts. She has been the women's soccer Chaplain Captain for three seasons and was a member of the Athletic Director's honor roll as a junior.  Coach Meadows said, "Ellie is someone I am so thankful for. She is the most caring and thoughtful teammate, and is always making sure her teammates have everything they need. Ellie was here from the very beginning and she has helped me tremendously in growing this team to what it is today. Ellie's passion for the game and drive to not only make herself better, but her teammates better is something I've always admired. Being our Chaplin captain, Ellie has led her teammates over the last few years through bible study that she hosts each week, through her devotionals, and through her servant leadership. As Ellie continues through her journey in life, I hope soccer remains a huge part of it, through coaching or supporting her local club with her mom!

Ana AugustoANA AUGUSTO - Augusto is in her second season with the Beacons after transferring from Umpqua Community College. She has made a name for herself this season with four shutouts, earning two CCC defensive player of the week awards, and holding a Goals Against Average of 0.94 which ranks third in the CCC. Coach Meadows said, "Ana happened to fall into our laps when things fell through with Multnomah, and it was one of the best things to happen to our program.  I knew Ana prior to her time at Bushnell as my team at SWOCC competed against hers in her time at Umpqua CC. I was always very impressed with her shot stopping ability, her leadership, and her ability to fly. She also crushed my dreams of first place in the NWAC her freshman year with numerous outrageous saves that I will never forget. When she contacted me about joining our program, I did not hesitate. Not only does she make a huge impact on the field, but off the field, her presence is known and felt by all. She is our biggest motivator, each players biggest supporter, and she's saved our butts numerous times in the net. As a captain, she led our team to an unbelievable season and we are so blessed to have Ana lead us as we go into playoffs. Ana's path has not always been the easiest, however, we are so happy to have been a part of it and wish her nothing but the best as she continues her future!"

Lexis Canyete-AsatoLEXIS CANYETE-ASATO - Canyete-Asato has been with the Beacons for three seasons after transferring from SWOCC. She has played in 45 games during her career, making 44 starts and has scored five goals including two game-winners. She was a First-Team All-CCC selection as a sophomore and a Second-Team All-Conference selection as a junior. She has also been named Bushnell's Most Versatile, Most Valuable Player, and Offensive Player of the Year during her career. Coach Meadows said, "I've had the pleasure of coaching Lex the last five years, both at SWOCC and now at Bushnell. To be able to see her grow not only on the field, but also off the field as a talented and driven woman has been something I will never forget. There are very few people who can be as goofy as they are off the field, on the field. It truly shows Lex's love for the game with her ability to flip that switch and have forwards leaving their ankles a few yards away. As a captain the last two years, Lex was a huge contributor to the success Bushnell has had over the last three years. With numerous all conference accolades and team accolades, we are so lucky to have had her be such a huge part of this program. I can't wait to see where Lex goes next."

Stephanie LlanosSTEPHANIE LLANOS - Llanos is in her second season with the Beacons after transferring from Clark College. She has played in 32 games, making 29 starts and has scored six goals including three game-winners. Coach Meadows said, "Steph is one of the hardest workers on the field. Over the last two years, we've asked Steph to do near the impossible. With her offensive ability, as well as her defensive DAWG mentality, Steph is a talent that will be very hard to replace in the following years. She holds herself, and her teammates, to such a high standard, believing the best in every one of them. I learned early that Steph is not one we try to overly coach or control from the sidelines. She does best when she's playing freely and having a lot of fun. Between Steph's goal celebrations on the field and her dance moves off the field, she is one that we are so thankful chose us to finish her collegiate career."

Lorelai MurphyLORELAI MURPHY - Murphy is in her third season with the Beacons and will be graduating early with her degree in Psychology. She has played in 45 games during her career, making 33 starts. The defender registered a pair of assists as a junior and she has been named the team's Most Versatile Athlete and Most Valuable Newcomer during her career. Coach Meadows said, "This is a full circle moment for me. I coached Lorelai as a freshman in high school and now she is graduating college. To see her develop over the last 7 years has been so enjoyable. She was always a great player, but to watch her thrive in a new environment and as a leader of this program is something I'm so proud of. She has been a captain the last two years, but this year she has really out done herself. Not only does Lorelai display leadership in her coaching of her teammates and backline, but also her willingness to sacrifice her body game in and game out. This whole last year, Lorelai has been dealing with some sort of injury because she gives everything she's got, every single game. Anybody that has played with Lorelai over the last few years will tell you that Lorelai shuts offenses down. She has won numerous MVP's this season, and arguably could have won it more. She also has a handful of goal line or last ditch effort saves, making Ana's job relatively easy this past year. I'm so proud of Lorelai and so happy I got to see and coach her from start to finish."

Jasmine SeagoJASMINE SEAGO - Seago is in her second season with the Beacons after transferring from Clark College. She played in 22 games during her career including all 15 this season, making eight starts. She has scored one goal and one assist this season. Coach Meadows said, "Jasmine is one of the nicest people you will ever meet…off the field. She is very soft spoken and very supportive of her teammates, but I'm really glad she is on our team. Jaz on the field is a menace. She is very strong and works so hard, that she is a handful to deal with. Defenses have a hard time with her because of her strength and drive going forward. She also has one of the quickest trigger, powerful shots I have ever seen. Jasmine has grown to be a huge part of the team this year and we are so thankful to have her with us."

Mayah TorokMAYAH TOROK - Torok is in her fourth season with the Beacons and has played in 14 games during her career and made multiple appearances with the reserves squad as a junior. She will graduate next spring with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Coach Meadows said, "I am super proud of Mayah's growth over the last few years. However, this year Mayah has really stepped it up. She consistently asks questions and then applies that knowledge in practices and games. I know battling some injuries last year was tough, but I'm so proud of her perseverance and drive. Not only is Mayah an impact on our team but she's also an impact in the Bushnell community and her local community. Mayah has been a member of the Bushnell choir over the last few years, as well as a camp counselor for her hometown youth church camp. I'm so excited to see what Mayah does with her future!"
