Top-Ranked Mounties Topple No. 23 Beacons

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 23 Bushnell University volleyball team struggled to find answers for the NAIA's No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University on Saturday afternoon, as they were swept by the Mounties, 25-12, 25-16, 25-18.

Bushnell (14-10, 8-6 CCC) allowed Eastern (21-1, 13-1) to run wild offensively, hitting .469, with offense coming significant production from multiple people.

The duo of Kiauna Mack and Keira Vaughn were unstoppable at the net, combining for 24 kills on 39 swings without an error. Mack went 13-for-17 and had a hand in all five Eastern blocks as they out-blocked the Beacons, 5-1. Brooklyn Willard, Mylie Mills, and McKenzie Jonas added seven kills apiece with Willard posting a double-double with a team-high 11 digs. Kate Stidham posted 30 assists to lead the Mounties.

Bushnell was led in the loss by Leah Agost, Hailey Heider, and Amyah Semau, earning eight kills apiece. Semau added eight digs.

UP NEXT: The Beacons, who fall into a share for fourth-place in the CCC will hit the road next weekend, taking on No. 18-ranked Northwest University on Friday at 6:00 pm.
