EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's soccer team took care of business on Friday afternoon, toppling The Evergreen State College, 4-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.

Freshman
Elidia Cervantes Carlos (pictured) continued her torrid start to October, posting her first career hat-trick to give her five goals over the Beacons last two games while lifting Bushnell (5-3-2, 4-2 CCC) to a third consecutive CCC win. She now has six goals on the season, the most for a Beacon in 11 years.

Head Coach
Halle Meadows said, "We came out a little slow in the first half and that is something we need to be better about moving forward. But we had a strong showing in the second half and I am proud of the way we played. It was another great team effort both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball."
Â
Bushnell out-shot the Geoducks (0-9, 0-6 CCC) 11-2 in the first half but scored just once. Cervantes struck pay dirt in the 31st minute with the only goal of the first half and the eventual game-winner, taking a long pass dropped in from
Kenedi McDonald and scoring to the right. Â
Â
An insanely efficient second-half followed with the Beacons scoring three times in a nine-minute stretch. Cervantes Carlos added her second goal off a cross from
Addy Morgan in the 58th minute and then in the 64th, scored off a pass from
Ohu Miles.
Â
"Our team did a great job holding each other accountable today," said Cervantes Carlos. "We made the necessary adjustments going into the second half and capitalized on our opportunities. It was a strong win for us and we are looking to carry this momentum through the rest of the season.
Â
Freshman
Charlotte Vandercar capped off the scoring just three minutes later, as she headed home a 28-yard free-kick from
Lexis Canyete-Asato.
Â
The Beacons finished with a 19-3 advantage in shots as
Ana Augusto picked up a pair of saves in 75 minutes of work. Starting defender
Lorelai Murphy said, "I am very proud of how we played today. This was a must-win game for us and our goal scorers were able to step up and put shots away. The best thing we can do now is prepare for Northwest tomorrow and learn to put these games away early."
Â
UP NEXT: The Beacons, who moved into a tie for fourth-place in the CCC with the victory, will close out the weekend on Saturday against Northwest University (6-3-3, 2-1-3) at 4:30 pm. The Eagles were also 4-0 victors on Friday as they took down Corban University in Salem.
