EUGENE, Ore.  – The Bushnell men's basketball team led for 38 minutes of their Cascade Conference contest with Northwest University on Friday night, claiming a 79-69 victory.

Playing one of their best halves of the season defensively, the Beacons pulled out to a 34-27 advantage at halftime, and stretched the lead to as many as 15 points late in the game. Bushnell shot 47.5% from the field and used a solid nine-man rotation, earning a 36-18 margin in bench scoring to claim their third straight win.

Eddie Alexander said, "Tonight was a grind. We played hard and gave a great effort and I am proud of the fight we displayed. This victory was all about the team and winning together."

Bushnell (8-9, 4-7 CCC) was led off the bench by senior
Luke Smith (pictured), scoring 16 points with three steals.
Squeeky Johnson added 14 points and hit three three-pointers while
Kaleb Burnett and
Turner Livingston posted ten points apiece.
Cory Johnson led all players with eight rebounds, added eight points and
Roy Bunn rang up six assists. Â Â

The Eagles (2-14, 1-9) were led by Nash Wobrock, scoring a game-high 19 points along with a team-high six rebounds. Caleb Whalen posted 13 points and a pair of blocks in the defeat.

Bushnell will look to make it four in a row on Saturday as they play host to The Evergreen State College Geoducks (1-12, 1-9) at 5:00 pm.
