EUGENE, Ore.  – For the second night in a row, the Beacons led for over 38 minutes, and for the second night in a row that didn't mean it was ever comfortable as the Beacons offense prevailed over The Evergreen State College on Saturday night, 100-92.
Â
The Beacons led by as many as 14 points late in the first half and held a 55-43 lead at the intermission as they shot 60% from the field and went 8-for-13 from three-point range. The lead hovered in the high single-digits for most of the second half, and an 8-for-10 effort from the free-throw line over the final 20 minutes helped the Beacons keep the Geoducks at bay.
Â
Bushnell finished the game shooting 55% from the field, held a 31-26 margin in rebounding, and turned the ball over just five times and all five were forced by the opposition. It was the fourth game this season that the Beacons coughed it up five times or less.
Â
The Beacons had five players in double-digits on Saturday, led by a 23-point performance from
Cory Johnson who hit four three-pointers.
Kaleb Burnett added 18 points and
Ashton Harvey scored 15, along with a game-high seven rebounds.
Christian Pitcher (12) and
Luke Smith (10) provided help off the bench as the Bushnell reserves out-scored their Evergreen counterparts, 34-23.

Head Coach
Eddie Alexander said, "I am really proud of the guys and this win streak we have put together. We lacked the discipline on the defensive end tonight, but I know we will be better moving forward. I give credit to Evergreen. They hit a lot of tough shots in our well-known shooters gym."
Â
Evergreen (1-13, 1-10 CCC) was led by the duo of Jourdan Joseph and Garrett Long who hit four three-pointers apiece and combined for 45 points. Bushnell struggled to find an answer from Joseph who scored a game-high 29 points and still led all players with four assists.
Â
The Beacons have climbed back to .500 on the season at 9-9 overall. At the half-way point of the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule, the team is now 5-7, holding eighth-place with a two-game lead over Warner Pacific. The Knights (8-9, 3-9) will be Bushnell's next opponent, on Friday in Portland with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.
