EUGENE, Ore.  – With a goal in the 75th minute, Simpson University emerged with their first victory of the season, topping the Bushnell women's soccer team in a defensive battle at Civic Park.
 
The Beacons (2-3) were out-shot 7-2 in the contest and managed just one shot-on-goal. Simpson's goal came courtesy of a little miscommunication on defense as Chloe Tague intercepted a clearance pass and beat the keeper for the game-winner.
 
Bushnell's stays home for their final non-conference game on Wednesday, taking on George Fox University at 4:00 pm.
