Owls Hand Beacons 2-0 Loss

EUGENE, Ore.  – Facing a team on the verge of moving into the NAIA top-25 rankings, the Beacons put up a defensive fight on Saturday before falling to Oregon Tech, 2-0.

The Owls (7-1-1, 3-0 CCC) out-shot the Beacons 28-1, but the home team was able to take a scoreless tie into the second half as starting keeper Lexi Bates collected 11 saves on the night.

"It was another tough game for us against a great team," said head coach Halle Meadows. We've got work to do before a big travel week, but we'll hit it hard and grow and improve."

Oregon Tech scored their first goal in the 50th minute as Kayla Ness scored off a pass from Brianna Lewis. The second goal come on a set piece when Shalynai Naputi's corner kicked bounced straight into the goal untouched.

The Beacons (2-7, 0-3) hit the road for their next six games, beginning with their Montana trip next weekend. They will face off against the University of Providence (5-2-1, 2-1) on Friday at 1:00 pm Mountain time.
