Raiders Hand Beacons a Full Shutout

EUGENE, Ore.  – A goal in each half helped lead Southern Oregon to a 2-0 shutout win of the Beacons on Friday as Bushnell was held in check without a single shot attempt.

The Raiders (5-2, 2-1 CCC) outshot the Beacons 18-0 and had eight shots on goal, giving Bushnell keeper Ana Augusto six saves on a busy afternoon. It was the first time since 2019 that the Beacons were unable to put up an attempt.

"We have been our own worst enemy this season," said head coach Halle Meadows, "we gave up the ball in front of the goal and SOU capitalized. With a PK given at the end, it started getting a bit chippy but we take away the good and that bad, we make adjustments, and we look forward to anther top ranked team tomorrow."

Mia Ammons gave the Raiders their game-winner in the 39th minute, and they followed with a late insurance goal in the 82nd minute on a penalty kick score from Ava Johnson.

The Beacons (2-6, 0-2) stay home on Saturday to face off with Oregon Tech in another Cascade Collegiate Conference battle at 12:00 pm.
