EUGENE, Ore. – A goal in each half helped lead Southern Oregon to a 2-0 shutout win of the Beacons on Friday as Bushnell was held in check without a single shot attempt.  Â
Â
The Raiders (5-2, 2-1 CCC) outshot the Beacons 18-0 and had eight shots on goal, giving Bushnell keeper
Ana Augusto six saves on a busy afternoon. It was the first time since 2019 that the Beacons were unable to put up an attempt.
Â
"We have been our own worst enemy this season," said head coach
Halle Meadows, "we gave up the ball in front of the goal and SOU capitalized. With a PK given at the end, it started getting a bit chippy but we take away the good and that bad, we make adjustments, and we look forward to anther top ranked team tomorrow."
Â
Mia Ammons gave the Raiders their game-winner in the 39th minute, and they followed with a late insurance goal in the 82nd minute on a penalty kick score from Ava Johnson.
Â
The Beacons (2-6, 0-2) stay home on Saturday to face off with Oregon Tech in another Cascade Collegiate Conference battle at 12:00 pm.
