Bushnell Falls to Soka

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.  –  Two second-half goals secured the victory for Soka University of America over the visiting Bushnell University women's soccer team on Saturday evening.

The Lions (1-0) finished with an 11-9 edge in shots, putting six attempts on frame. Jeanna Ceja led the team with three shots, including a goal in the 51st minute of play that gave Soka the 1-0 advantage. The Lions struck again in the 63rd minute thanks to Micaela Villalobos, who recorded a goal and an assist on the match.

Bushnell (0-2) was led by two shots from Lexis Canyete-Asato, one on frame and the next off the left post on a free kick. Eight different Beacons recorded a shot. Keira Wilkins saw her first collegiate start in goal, recording four saves on the night.

Up next, the Beacons wrap up their road trip with a match against Providence Christian College on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. in Pasadena, Calif.
