Papa John's Athletes of the Month - March

Isaiah HartIsaiah Hart – Baseball

The Bushnell baseball team went 12-7 in March, and found themselves in first-place in the CCC with a 6-2 record, due in large part to the offensive play from senior Isaiah Hart. Hart got at least one hit in 16 of his 17 games, and finished the month on a ten-game hitting streak.

Hart collected 25 hits including three home runs, had 13 RBI and 12 runs scored. He was named the Cascade Conference Player of the Week on March 4 after starting the weekend with a 9-for-12 performance as the Beacons went 3-1 against the College of Idaho. In fact, Hart owned the Yotes in March, batting .536 in eight games.

Jermaine SchexnayderJermaine Schexnayder – Men's Track & Field

Jermaine Schexnayder started and ended the month of March with historic performances, and continued to establish himself as one of the greatest jumpers in school history in his first year with the program. The month became the first Beacon ever to compete at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field national championships, taking 12th place in the Triple Jump. He also broke his school indoor record again, hitting 14.49 meters.

Schexnayder's outdoor season got off to a strong start as well, establishing new school records in the high jump and triple jump. He won both of those events at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and hit a 14.57 meter jump in the triple, breaking the school record and hitting the NAIA "A" standard. He currently leads the CCC and ranks eighth in the NAIA in the event and was named the CCC Rize Laboratory Athlete of the Week for men's field in the process.
