Bushnell (6-9, 1-2 CCC) returns home for their first CCC games inside the friendly confines of the Rich Schwab Field this weekend, playing host to No. 22-ranked College of Idaho.
 
MILESTONE WATCH: Faith Wayman heads into the weekend with 99 career hits. She looks to join elite company in the 100-hit club for the Beacons. The senior Catcher/DH is fifth in the conference in hitting, batting .464.
 
CCC OUTLOOK: The Cascade Conference continues to be one of the strongest in the NAIA and is home to four Top-25 teams. Oregon Tech is ranked No. 6, followed by No. 8 Southern Oregon, No. 14 Eastern Oregon, and No. 22 College of Idaho. 
 
Bushnell ranks seventh in the CCC in hitting (.262 BA), fifth in pitching (3.35 ERA), and ninth in fielding (.940).  The Beacons are second in the conference in stolen bases with 24 and third in doubles with 22.
 
Offensively, Wayman is fifth in hitting (.464) while Violet Richardson is fourth in doubles (5) and Madi Steelman is third in the CCC with nine stolen bases. In the circle, Liz Hillier ranks sixth in the CCC with a 2.08 ERA and defensively, Hannah Tennant leads the conference with 91 putouts.
 
COLLEGE OF IDAHO: The Yotes (9-7, 2-0 CCC) continue to be one of the top teams in the conference and the nation with all but one of their losses coming against teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA or NCAA Division II Top-25.  They opened conference play with a sweep of Carroll College last weekend, winning 1-0 and 9-0.
 
The Yotes are ranked fifth in the CCC in hitting (.309), sixth in pitching (3.46 ERA) and first in fielding (.988). They have committed just five errors across 434 chances in their first 15 games.
 
Individually, Lolo Walker leads the team, hitting .395 and leads the conference with 17 runs, 15 walks, six home runs, and a 1.466 OPS.
 
The College of Idaho holds a 54-15 advantage in the all-time series with the Beacons, and have won 16 straight games.
 
BASEBALL

Bushnell (9-8) hosts No. 3 Lewis-Clark State College for a four-game series this weekend. In their last time out, the Beacons won three of four games at the College of Idaho.     
 
In the 13-11 victory, the Beacons scored nine runs in the final three innings, recording 16 hits on the game. Chase Nye went 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and four runs scored, while Jayden Soriano tossed four scoreless innings in relief. The Beacons swept Sunday's games, 11-2 and 4-0.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Isaiah Hart was named the Rize Laboratory Cascade Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday. He recorded nine hits in 12 at bats for a .750 batting average and a 1.083 slugging percentage. Across the week he tallied a double, a home run, three runs scored and five RBI.
 
The Beacons lead the conference with a .288 batting average, including nine players hitting over .300. Hart (.419 – 3rd) and Nye (.387 – 8th) rank among the top 10 in the conference in batting. Jordan Wilson is fifth in hits (24), while Albert Jennings ranks fifth in RBI (21) and third in doubles (7).   
 
The pitching staff holds a combined 4.56 ERA, the top mark among CCC schools. Ethan Sachs ranks third with a 3.51 ERA in five starts and is sixth in strikeouts (26). Trevor Hammond is tied for the conference lead in wins with three, while Colby Knutzen is tied for second in saves with two.
 
LC STATE: The Warriors (9-3), the 2023 NAIA World Series Runners Up, are coming off a four-game sweep over (RV) British Columbia. Shane Spencer was named the CCC Pitcher of the Week, recording 10 strikeouts in 5.1 innings in a 13-7 victory.
 
The Warriors are batting .285 as a team and are led by Brandon Cabrera, who is batting .395 with 17. Dominic Signorelli leads the conference in slugging (.829), boosted by seven home runs through 12 games.
 
LC State holds a 5.23 ERA, second in the CCC. Drake George leads the way with a 2.30 ERA through three starts. He has 17 strikeouts through 15.2 innings pitched. 
 
The Warriors are 6-1 in the all-time series with the Beacons, winning three of four last season.
 
TRACK & FIELD
Saturday 3/9 at Lane Community College (Livestats)

 
The Bushnell men's track & field team will have their first of three competitions in Eugene this weekend, competing at Lane Community College for the LCC Open.
 
LAST WEEK: The indoor season closed out last weekend with Jermaine Schexnayder making history as the first Beacon to compete at the NAIA Indoor National Championships. The freshman took 12th-place in the triple jump, landing another school record at 14.49m (47'6.5").  
 
The outdoor season also got underway at the Erik Anderson Memorial Invitational with 29 personal records either being broken or established by newcomers. While the event could not be used as a qualifier for CCC or NAIA championships, Kaitlin Cook had an impressive start in the 3000m Steeplechase, breaking her PR with a run of 12:39.18.
 
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Sunday 3/10 vs. University of Portland, 2:00 pm (Video Stream)

 
Bushnell (3-7) will play their home opener on Sunday, playing host to the University of Portland at 2:00 pm in their official debut at the Grace Beach Courts. Earlier on Sunday, there will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new home of the Beacons at Grace Community Fellowship. For more information on that event, CLICK HERE.   
 
PORTLAND: The Pilots (4-4) come into the weekend having lost two straight duals to Sacramento State and CSU Bakersfield. Portland had a four-dual winning streak sandwiched in the middle of their schedule, including a close 3-2 win over the Beacons.
 
The NCAA Division I Pilots are 5-1 all-time against the Beacons with Bushnell claiming a 3-2 win in Salem last season.
 
MEN'S GOLF
Sunday-Tuesday 3/10 – 3/12 at Bandon Dunes Match Play
 
The Bushnell men's golf team opens the spring season at the Bandon Crossings Golf Course, hosting a three-day Match Play event. The Beacons will be joined by Simpson University, Skagit Valley College and Corban University.
 
ESPORTS
Monday 3/11 Rocket League vs Wichita State, 5:30 p.m. (Video Stream)
 
Rocket League concludes the regular season with a match against Wichita State (3-1) on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Beacons (3-2), who are third in the West-Central Conference, will need a win to have a shot at a playoff spot.
