CALDWELL, Idaho – For the third straight year, the Bushnell Beach Volleyball team will be headed to the NAIA West Regional Championships in Chula Vista, California in April, clinching their spot on Sunday, despite falling to The College of Idaho in CCC action, 4-1.
Â
The Beacons (5-13, 3-5 CCC) are currently in fourth-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, which will send their top-four teams to take on the top-four from the California Pacific Conference in the tournament. The Beacons hold a three-game lead over Northwest University and the Eagles have three matches to play, but Bushnell swept NU during the regular season to own the potential tiebreaker.
Â
As for Saturday's action, the No. 4 pair of
Laci Jespersen and
Sydney Myhre (pictured) started things off with a win for the Beacons, taking down Brianna Artman and Faith Faucher in three sets, 19-21, 21-17, 15-8.
Â
Unfortunately, the other four pairs all fell for the Beacons, although
Brooke Silvernail/
Anessa Stotts at No. 2 and
Mai Tomlin/
Roslyn McLellan at No. 5 both forced a third set in their duals.
Â
The Beacons will return home next week and will play host to Southern Oregon University on Thursday at 5:00 pm.
