McMINVILLE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's track & field team battled through the rainy and cold conditions on Saturday, opening the outdoor season at the Erik Anderson Icebreaker Memorial Invitational, hosted by Linfield University.

Kyle Will said, "Between the snow, wind and rain, it was a pretty miserable day, so I'm really proud of their effort given the conditions. We were using this meet as training, so a lot of sprinters were running longer events and distance were doing doubles to get ready for the rest of the season."

Freshman
Wyatt Pepiot had one of the top results of the day, placing ninth in his first outdoor 400-meter run, finishing in a time of 54.24. Pepiot also competed in the 800-meter (2:09.21 – 23
rd), finishing a spot behind freshman
Logan Gant (2:09.03 – 22
nd).

Jah'Lin Green was the top Beacon finisher in the 100-meter (12.05 – 20
th), while
Sayer Pescosolido neared a top-20 finish in the 1500-meter run (4:29.69 – 21
st).

Taylor Huffman led the Bushnell throwers with an eighth-place result in the javelin, tossing 45.82m (150-04) in his first throw.
Brodie Riscili, who competed in the discus and shot put, finished 10
th in his shot put debut with a toss of 11.62m (38-01.50).

Brett Olmstead placed 10
th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.35m (10-11.75) and
Gabe Evans took 13
th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.48m (34-04.75).

Up next, Bushnell competes at the LCC Open, hosted by Lane Community College on March 9.
