Beacons Swept as Conference Play Resumes

SNOHOMISH, Wash. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule picked up again on Friday, hosted by Northwest University. The Beacons came out on the losing end in both of their matches, falling 4-1 to both No. 3 Corban and RV Southern Oregon.  
 
Bushnell opened with their first match of the season against Southern Oregon University (4-0, 3-0 CCC), a team currently receiving votes in the NAIA national coaches poll. The 4-1 loss featured a second consecutive pairs victory at No. 2 for the reigning CCC Pair of the Week, Brooke Silvernail and Anessa Stotts, 10-21, 21-16, 19-17 over Kira Sandoval and Grace Gulbrandsen.
 
Against No. 3 Corban (5-1, 3-0), Bushnell was once again able to sneak out a pair win at the No. 4 pair as Sydney Myhre and Laci Jespersen (pictured) defeated Erin Scott and Jordan Faircloth in three sets, 14-21, 21-18, 15-12.
 
Bushnell (3-10, 1-3) will close out the conference clashes for the weekend on Saturday, taking on first-year program College of Idaho (1-1, 1-0) at 10:00 am before taking on the host Eagles (2-8, 0-4) at 4:00 pm.
