MESA, Ariz. –The Park-Gilbert Tournament wrapped up on Saturday for the Bushnell Beach Volleyball team with a win and a loss.

The Beacons showed a flair for the dramatic in their opener, coming back from an 0-2 deficit by winning all three second-half pairs to pull out the victory. All three victories came in three sets.

At the No. 1 pair,
Halle Neumann and
Kate Palelek defeated their opponent 21-13, 19-21, 15-6. In the No. 3 pair,
Courtney Isom and
Anessa Stotts battled back after losing the first set for a 17-21, 21-19, 17-15 win.

As they did in the win over Park-Gilbert on Friday, the No. 5 pair fed off the pressure as
Laci Jespersen and
Reagan Walker (pictured) landed the plane with a 21-16, 17-21, 15-12 win.

The Buccaneers got one back from the Beacons in the finale, claiming the 3-2 victory. Once again, both of Bushnell's pairs wins came in the three-set variety.

Neumann and Palelek earned a heart-stopping comeback win at No. 1, 19-21, 27-25, 15-6, while Jespersen and Walker won for the third time on the weekend, 18-21, 21-12, 15-8.

The Beacons (2-3) will return to action in two weeks when they travel to Salem for a mini-tournament at Corban University. On January 23 and 24, they will play against Corban along with Division I foes Sacramento State and the University of Portland.
