EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's soccer team put together a fight on Friday afternoon, before falling to No. 12 College of Idaho, 2-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Â
A two-goal spurt in a four-minute span early in the second half was all the scoring that would take place in the contest as Bushnell was able to hold the Yotes to just five shots-on-goal, over six fewer then their season average. Â Â
Â
Head Coach
Halle Meadows said, "Today was a solid game for our girls. They played tough against the best team in our conference and I was very impressed with how we held them in check defensively."
Â
After a scoreless first half, The Yotes (11-0-2, 9-0 CCC) got on the scoreboard just four minutes into the second half, as Alondra Osuna scored on a goalline strike off a cross from Larissa Wegner. Eden Makaafi made it 2-0 just four minutes later, scoring a chip over the top of the Bushnell keeper off a pass from Cydney Ziegler.
Â
The Beacons (5-11, 3-7 CCC) finished the game with four total shot attempts to 18 for the Yotes with freshman
Indiana Chambers taking Bushnell's sole shot-on-goal in the first half.
Â
Bushnell will look to rebound on Saturday, taking on a team that is currently receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll in Eastern Oregon (6-4-3, 5-3-1). Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 pm at Civic Park.
