Bushnell (9-8, 5-6) will be looking to rebound this week after a pair of top-25 road losses to Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
HISTORY FOR ASPEN: This weekend saw a major milestone accomplished for
Aspen Slifka. The senior/grad student became the first Beacon ever to collect 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 200 steals, and 100 blocked shots in her career. Slifka ranks in the top-five in eleven different career stat categories and she is No. 2 all-time in seven of them.
CONFERENCE OUTLOOK: We have hit the half-way point of the Cascade Collegiate Conference circuit with the top-four teams earning some clear separation from the pack. No. 7 LC State leads the way at 11-1 a half-game ahead of No. 20 Oregon Tech at 10-1. No. 24 Southern Oregon follows at 9-2 while Eastern Oregon is 8-4.
Just two games separate the next seven teams that are battling it out for four playoff spots. Bushnell is currently on top of that pile at 5-6, followed closely by College of Idaho (5-7), Corban (4-7) and Evergreen (4-7).
The Beacons are currently ranked tenth in the CCC in scoring, averaging 59.6 points per game. On defense, Bushnell is fourth, allowing 60.7 ppg, while holding opponents to a fourth-best 36.9% from the floor. The team is fourth in field goal percentage (.401) and blocks (3.3 bpg).
Individually,
Aspen Slifka is third in the CCC in scoring (17.8 ppg) while in conference-only games she is second, averaging 19.5.
Libby Mathis is ninth in scoring (14.6 ppg) and leads the conference in field-goal percentage (.562) and rebounding (11.4 rpg).
Aly Mirabile is currently third in the conference in assists (3.8 apg) while all five Bushnell starters rank in the top-seven in the CCC for minutes played.
CORBAN: The Warriors (5-12, 4-7) finished the first-half of the CCC schedule just one game behind the Beacons. They come into Tuesday's rivalry clash on a four-game losing streak.
The Warriors are averaging 60.9 points per game, which ranks ninth in the CCC. They are 11th defensively, allowing 73.6.
Maddie Godwin leads the offense with 16.5 points per game, ranked fifth in the conference. Autumn Agnew is 21st, with 10.8 ppg.
Bushnell defeated the Warriors in Salem back in December, 53-48. The Beacons hold a 24-19 lead in the all-time series, and have won ten straight. The last Corban victory in Eugene back in 2018.
MULTNOMAH: The Lions (5-13, 2-10) have lost seven of their last eight games coming in and are currently alone in 12th-place in the CCC. They rank third in the CCC in scoring, averaging 72 points per game, but they are last defensively, allowing 74.2 ppg.
MU likes to visit the free-throw line, where they have the second-most attempts in the conference behind the Beacons, but are shooting a CCC-best 78.4%. Rebounding has not been their strong suit as they rank last in the conference for both rebounds and rebounds allowed, giving up a margin of nearly ten boards per contest.
A large part of their offensive power has come from Savannah Huerta, who leads the CCC in scoring, averaging 20.8 points per game. She has scored at least 20 points in 13 games and had 26 against the Beacons in December.
The Beacons won the first meeting in Portland, 66-59, improving their head-to-head record to 16-2. Bushnell has won nine straight in the series.
WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights (6-10, 4-8) head into the weekend having dropped seven straight games. They are currently tied for ninth in conference but are just a game-and-a-half behind the Beacons for fifth. The Knights rank 11th in the CCC in scoring, averaging 58.1 points per game and they are sixth defensively (61.9 ppg allowed).
Teirra Hicks (10.6 ppg) and Emily Brown (10.4) lead the way for the WPU offense while Brown boasts a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game.
Warner Pacific defeated the Beacons at home back in December, 53-49 behind 11 points from Larsa Guzman. The Beacons hold a 21-17 lead in the all-time series, but have won 17 of the last 21 meetings, dating back to 2014.

After a tough weekend for the Beacons (9-8, 6-5 CCC) with two close road losses, Bushnell will look to bounce back as the second half of the CCC schedule begins with three straight home games.
2000-POINT WATCH: Fifth-Year senior
Stevie Schlabach is now within striking distance of a major milestone, which has only happened twice in the history of Bushnell men's basketball and has not been accomplished in 33 years as he approaches 2000 points for his career. Schlabach currently has 1817 points.
CONFERENCE OUTLOOK: The dust has settled on the first half of the CCC schedule. A clear top-four has emerged, led by No. 3 College of Idaho and unranked Lewis-Clark State who are tied for first at 11-1. Southern Oregon and No. 24 Oregon Tech are close behind at 9-2. Next up is a three-way cluster containing Corban and Bushnell, both at 6-5, and Eastern Oregon at 6-6.
For the first time this season, the Beacons have dropped to No. 2 in the CCC in scoring, averaging 87.1 points per game. Oregon Tech has taken over first-place averaging 87.2 ppg. The Beacons are tenth defensively, allowing 84.8 ppg. Bushnell is No. 1 for three-point shooting (.395), No. 2 for overall field goal shooting (.485) and No. 3 for free-throw shooting (.744). The Beacons are also second in the conference in assists (16.9/g), third in blocks (3.3/g) and fifth in rebounds (37.9/g).
Individually,
Stevie Schlabach ranks sixth in the conference in scoring (15.4 ppg) while
Kaden Sand is eighth (14.9 ppg).
Spencer Hoffman is fifth in conference with 7.9 rebounds per game and seventh for field goal percentage (.556).
CORBAN: The Warriors (9-7, 6-5) come into Tuesday fifth-place battle with the Beacons having lost four straight. Their biggest win of the CCC slate thus far came against Bushnell back in December, 87-81 at home.
Corban is fifth in the CCC in scoring (78.9 ppg) and fourth in defense (70.9 ppg allowed). They are third in opponent field-goal percentage (.428). The big battle on Tuesday will be from three-point range as the Warriors are the best defensive team against the three (.284 allowed) while Bushnell is the best three-point shooting team (.395).
The Warrior offense runs through Aundree Polk, who ranks second in the CCC averaging 17.9 points per game. He has scored 20 or more points in six games and has led the team in scoring in over half of their contests.
With their win in December, Corban now holds a 50-22 advantage in the all-time series, dating back to the late 80's. The hold a slight 17-16 edge in Cascade Conference games, which dates back to 2007.
MULTNOMAH: The Lions (8-10, 3-9) are one of four teams that will do battle over the back half of the conference schedule, fighting for eighth-place and a spot in the CCC tournament. They are currently in ninth, a half-game behind Northwest.
Multnomah ranks seventh in the CCC for both scoring (77.2 ppg) and defense (82.7 ppg allowed) and they are third in the conference for rebounding, averaging 39.1 per game. They also lead the Cascade Conference in blocks, averaging 3.7 per game.
Individually, Tyrese Taylor leads the way with 15.4 points per game, placing him sixth in the CCC and tied with
Stevie Schlabach. He also leads the conference in rebounding (9.4/g). Miles Macadory (13.6 ppg) is 14th in scoring while Kadeem Nelson (13.0 ppg) is 17th.
Bushnell won the December meeting between the schools in Portland, 99-77. The Beacons lead 18-5 in the all-time series, but the Lions have earned all five of their victories over the past four seasons.
WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights (2-16, 0-12) have fallen on some hard times in the CCC and are looking for their first win since opening the season with two non-conference victories in early November.
WPU is currently tenth in the CCC in scoring (74.5 ppg) and eighth in defense (83.6 ppg allowed). One bright spot for the Knights has been the play of Matt Solomon, averaging 18.8 points per game to lead the conference. He has four 25-point games this season and has led the team in scoring in all but four of their contests.
Bushnell won in Portland earlier this season, 85-68 and have won three of the last four in the series. The Knights lead 39-17 all-time.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

LAST WEEK: The 2024 Indoor Track & Field season got underway on Sunday at the Portland Indoor #1 meet, taking place at the Chiles Center at the University of Portland.
The headliner for the event was senior
Kaitlin Cook who became Bushnell's first-ever 1000m runner and thus establishing a new Beacon school record in the event. The teams also competed in a rare one-off non-NAIA 300m event, that saw
Adrienne Mai take seventh-place on the women's side and
Hunter Reininger take seventh for the men.
THIS WEEK: A select group of qualified individuals will head to Seattle this week for the University of Washington Invitational, including a large contingent of sprinters and jumpers. A few Beacons will be making their collegiate indoor debuts including
Kaleo Wellman (200m and jumps), and
Marae Paggio (800m).
