Tom Boldon Announces Resignation

EUGENE, Ore.  – Tom Boldon has announced his resignation as the Director of Track & Field and Head Cross Country coach for Bushnell University.

Boldon, who has been with the program since 2019, will depart for Redmond, Oregon for family.

"I am thankful to Corey Anderson, Sarah Freeman, Michael Fuller, and Dr. Joe Womack for giving me the opportunity to coach at such a great university," said Boldon. I have had an amazing time but not it is time to move to central Oregon and join my wife Kristin, who has been there since last August. I want to thank my wonderful coaching staff, who have worked together with me to teach and mentor young adults in athletics and in life. I especially want to thank Coach George Walcott for everything he has done and will continue to do at Bushnell."

Boldon has been a coach for over 30 years and during his time with the Beacons had coached fourteen individual athletes and one team to NAIA national championship appearances, including one individual national champion. His teams have consistently been among the highest academic achievers, earning NAIA Scholar Team honors every year, and his teams have routinely led the athletic department in community service hours.

Boldon said, "I feel so blessed to have been able to recruit and coach the best young men and women I could have ever imagined. We had some special times together and I will always cherish them."

Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, "I would like to thank Tom for his faithful leadership to Bushnell Cross Country and Track & Field over the past four and a half years. He has been an exemplary leader as well as a great faith mentor for countless student-athletes within out athletic department and university during his time at Bushnell. Tom's strengths of organization, communication, compassion, and friendship will be missed by all that have had the privilege to work with and to be coached by him over the years."

An immediate search is underway for a new Director of Track & Field and Head Cross Country Coach for the Beacons.
