CCC Golf Championship Preview

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University hosts the three-day Cascade Collegiate Conference Golf Tournament this week at the Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon.

The conference championship format will be played over three days: 54 holes, 18 holes per day. Day one and two will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and day three will start on hole 10 for the men at 8 a.m.
 
Nine schools will participate in the event: British Columbia, Bushnell, College of Idaho, Corban, Lewis-Clark State, Multnomah, Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon, Walla Walla.
 
The Thunderbirds are ranked 10th in the most recent NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, while the Warriors (LC) are at No. 20.
 
The conference regular season champion will be determined by the best win/loss record of the regular season tournaments including the CCC Championships. In case of a tie, co-conference champions will be declared.
 
The all-conference team will be comprised of the top 10 players with the lowest stroke average ((minimum of 75% of total tournament rounds completed).
 
After two of three events, UBC (16-0) holds the top spot in the standings followed by LC State (14-2) in second. C of I (9-7), OIT (9-7) and Multnomah (9-7) are tied for third, while Bushnell (7-9) is in sixth. WWU (5-11), SOU (3-13) and Corban (0-16) make up the remaining three spots.
 
The UBC trio of Mackenzie Bickell (72.2), Dylan Macdonald (72.2) and Hudson Lafayette (72.3) make up the top three spots in the standings. Jorgen Viken of LC State (72.3) is tied with Lafayette for third, while Sondre Anderson (72.3), also from LC, is in fifth. Click here for the complete individual standings.
 
Three Beacons enter the week among the top-20 in the CCC. Jackson Muramoto (73.0) is tied for seventh, Cade Stubbs (74.0) is tied for 11th and Elliot Wallace (75.5) is in 17th. Benjamin Lovrod (76.8) and Hayden Lazeo (83.0) make up the remaining two spots for Bushnell.
 
The automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship shall be awarded to the team with the lowest team stroke total at the CCC Championship.
 
The NAIA Championship takes place on May 16-19 at the Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.
