Matt Forsyth posted the lowest men's score in five years to take third place, leading Bushnell to a fourth-place team finish at the Simpson University Invitational at Riverview Golf Club.
Forsyth broke 70 for the second time this season, and tied for the fifth-lowest score in school history with a 67 in Tuesday's third and final round. His three-round score of 73-72-67—212 was good for third place.
"I thought our team played solid this week," said Forsyth. "We know that we haven't reached our potential as a team, but I am excited because we are trending in the right direction."
As a team, Bushnell shot a 300-290-295—885 which tied for the fourth-lowest in school history and was good for fourth-place as the Beacons were nine strikes better than Southern Oregon, and ten ahead of Oregon Tech among CCC schools. Lewis-Clark State won the tournament with an even-par 864.
