Beacons Tally Five Homers in Comeback Win

CALDWELL, Idaho – The Bushnell University baseball team scored eight runs in the seventh and three in the ninth to pull off a huge comeback in Sunday's 13-11 victory before the College of Idaho took the series finale 10-8.

Head Coach Tommy Richards said, "Yesterday we were timid, frantic and in our own way. Today we decided to embrace the thrill of competition and left it out on the field. We had a hard time all weekend of taming their offense, but I can live with the mentality we played with today."

Bushnell (22-22, 10-10 CCC) will enter the final weekend of the regular season in a tight battle for a spot in the conference tournament. Oregon Tech is the only team who has team has clinched a playoff berth. British Columbia (13-7), Lewis-Clark State (11-9), College of Idaho (11-9), Bushnell (10-10) and Corban (9-11) will fight for the three remaining spots.

After being held to just 10 hits on Saturday, the Beacons more than tripled that mark, recording 33 on Sunday and cut their strikeouts in half.

Jeff Fripp finished the day with eight RBI on seven hits with three home runs, including two in one inning. Reece Carganilla had an eight-hit day, batting 4-for-6 in both games, and Cayden Delozier tallied seven hits on the day.
